Activating the laser beam between his eyes, WALL•E cut himself free from his restraints and smashed his way into the diagnostics room. Grabbing EVE’s blaster arm, he swung it backward…and accidentally triggered it. KA-BLAM! The repair ward control panel exploded.

Uh-oh, thought WALL•E. He hadn’t meant to break such a big, important thing.

“WALL•E!” EVE screamed.

With the control panel destroyed, all the energy bands that held the robots captive dissolved and the repair ward’s door slid open. The reject-bots were free! In that brief moment, little WALL•E became a hero—well, at least to the reject-bots. They carried him out on their shoulders, cheering loudly.

Unfortunately, the celebration didn’t last.

“Halt!” called a steward-bot.

As the group stopped, EVE flew in and grabbed her blaster arm away from WALL•E. But as she reattached the arm, a steward snapped their picture. It looked like she was using her blaster arm as a weapon! She and WALL•E seemed like dangerous criminals.

“Caution: rogue robots! Caution: rogue robots!” Loudspeakers broadcast warnings all over the ship. Now WALL•E, EVE, and the rest of the reject-bots were really in trouble. Passengers panicked.

At last, EVE grabbed WALL•E and flew him high above the commotion. Then, as EVE glanced out a window, she hesitated. She had an idea.
